Lindsay Lohan's battle against her drug and alcohol demons has cost her a starring role in a movie about one of the most influential porn actresses of all time, dpa reported.
Lohan, 24, had been due to portray Linda Lovelace in Inferno, a biopic about the porn pioneer, but her continued stint in the Betty Ford rehab centre has prompted producers to replace her with Watchmen star Malin Akerman.
"Lindsay had scheduling issues due to legal obligations and is continuing to focus on getting better in rehabilitation in Palm Springs, and she really had to focus on that in our opinion - and hers," said the film's producer, Chris Hanley, in a statement. "For herself and her career in general it was really her decision to just focus on getting better psychologically."
