A soldier with the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) was killed in an explosion Wednesday in Afghanistan's restive southern region, ISAF said in a statement.
"An International Security Assistance Force service member died following an improvised explosive device attack in southern Afghanistan today," the statement said, Xinhua reported.
The nationality of the victim and exact location of the incident had not been revealed in the press release.
An ISAF service member was killed in a similar incident in southern Afghanistan on Tuesday.
More than 690 NATO soldiers, most of them Americans, have been killed so far this year in Afghanistan.
