Over 80 aircrafts and helicopters of the armed forces of the CIS countries were raised to intercept Russian bombers during drills of the united air defense system of the CIS countries. Targets were detected in proper time and destroyed conditionally, TASS said referring to the press service of the defense ministry of Russia.
Trainings of the united air defense system of seven CIS countries started this morning. It involved about 100 combat aircrafts and more than 130 command and control centers of different levels, and all the forces and means of defense are managed by the management center of the forces of aerospace defense of Russia in Moscow.
Previously, the office reported that duty forces detected the control objectives, whose role was played by the Russian Tu-160, Tu-95MS and Tu-22MZ. The press service said that several countries have raised the Su-27, MiG-29 and MiG-31 air fighters from the military airfields, which received targeting, went into a zone of interception and conditionally destroyed the "enemy" aircrafts.
"In total, over 80 aircrafts and helicopters of the armed forces of the CIS countries were raised in the air," the ministry of defense said.
