US President Barack Obama was briefed on the result of Britain's European Union referendum, and expects to have an opportunity to speak with British Prime Minister David Cameron over the course of the next day, Reuters reported June 24 citing a White House official.
“The president has been briefed on the incoming returns in the UK referendum, and he will continue to be updated by his team as the situation warrants,” a White House official said in a brief statement, adding the White House would release further comment “as soon as appropriate.”
