BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 3. Russia accepted the draft peace treaty proposed by Ukraine in Istanbul orally - with the exception of the Crimean issue, said the head of the Ukrainian negotiating delegation David Arakhamia, Trend reports citing UNİAN.
The Russian side confirmed that the draft documents had been developed enough to allow direct consultations between the presidents of the two countries.
Arakhamia noted that the meeting is highly likely to be held in Istanbul. Now the task of the groups is to work out the final stage not of the document itself, but of those issues that have already been touched upon and to prepare a possible meeting of the presidents.
As for security guarantees for Ukraine, active consultations are underway with potential guarantors. Officially, the three NATO countries have already agreed to provide guarantees in exactly the format proposed by Ukraine. These are Turkey, Germany and Italy.
