Turkish President’s Visit to Russia to Take Place on 26 December

Turkey, Ankara, 28 November /corr. Т A.Aleskerov / On 26 December, the President of Turkey, Abdullah Gul, will leave for Moscow on a two-day visit. During the visit, Gul is expected to meet with his Russian counterpart, Dmitry Medvedev, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, Chairman of Federation Council, Sergey Mironov, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. The main topics of the meetings will be the development of bilateral relations and situation in Caucasus, Turkiye newspaper reported. Also Turkish President is expected to discuss the possibilities of further increase in the commercial turnover between the two countries, which totaled $28bln last year. Gul will complete his visit to Russia with the trip to Kazan, where is planned to hold a meeting with the Head of Tatarstan, Mintimer Shaymiyev.
