In January-August 2019, passenger air transportation in Turkey decreased by 2.5 percent compared to the same period of 2018 and amounted to 139,918,823 passengers, Trend reports referring to the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure.
During this period, the share of passenger transportation by domestic flights accounted for 67,702,808 million people, which is 12.9 percent less compared to January-August 2018.
The share of international flights accounted for 72,216,015 million passengers, which is 9.7 percent more compared to the same period of 2018.
According to the ministry, in January-August 2019, Turkey's three main airports (except for new Istanbul airport), Sabiha Gokcen Airport, Esenboga Airport and Antalya Airport, carried a total of 57.419 million passengers.
