Turkey's export of steel, cement to Iran drops

Turkey’s export of steel and cement to Iran from January through December 2019 amounted to $88.3 million, Turkey’s Ministry of Trade told Trend on Jan. 21.

During this period, Turkey’s export of steel and cement to Iran dropped by 21 percent compared to the same period of 2018, and reached $67.8 million.

Turkey’s export of cement to Iran dropped by 36.9 percent, reaching $20.4 million.

In December 2019, Turkey’s export of steel to Iran dropped by 34 percent compared to December 2018, amounting to $5.6 million.

In this month, Turkey’s export of cement to Iran increased by 58.5 percent compared to the same month of 2018, and reached $1.9 million.

Export of steel from Turkey dropped by 10.6 percent in 2019 compared to 2018, amounting to $13.8 billion.

Turkey’s export of cement increased by 17.8 percent, exceeding $3.5 billion.
