Trend:

Turkey's Gama Holding, AKSA, Demiroren and other energy companies are in talks with Russia's Gazprom on natural gas imports following the end of the contract with BOTAS in 2022, Trend reports with reference to the Turkish media.

As reported, it is possible that Turkish companies will demand a discount on Russian gas for the discovery of hydrocarbon reserves in the Black Sea, which are estimated at 320 billion cubic meters of natural gas.

In August 2020, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated that energy resources are important to Turkey's national security.

“By 2023, the Turkish people will already be able to use natural gas, the reserves of which have been found in the Black Sea,” Erdogan added.
