BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 21. Turkish ports received over 14.9 million tons of cargo from Greece from January through October 2023, Trend reports.
According to data from the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, ships wearing the Turkish flag brought 1.2 million tons of goods to Turkish ports from Greece, while ships flying other flags transported 13.3 million tons.
During this time, Greek-flagged ships delivered 387,768 tons of cargo to Turkish ports.
Meanwhile, 3.25 million tons of transit cargo were carried from Greece to Turkish ports.
In October 2023, Turkish ports received a total of 33.7 million tons of cargo. During this time period, cargo flow to ports on ships flying the Turkish flag was 2.4 million tons.
Cargo transported to Turkish ports by vessels flying other countries' flags totaled 31.29 million tons.
Furthermore, Turkish ports handled 5.27 million tons of transit goods in October 2023.
The data from the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure showed that Türkiye's ports received 326.3 million tons of cargo from January through October 2023 (ships under Türkiye's flag delivered 24.2 million tons, and those under the flags of other countries - 302.1 million tons).
Furthermore, 56.9 million tons of transit cargo were handled by Turkish ports in the above period.
In general, the ports of Türkiye received 5,581 vessels (under the flags of other countries - 3,764, and under the flag of Türkiye - 1,817) in October of this year.
The Turkish ports received 51,186 vessels, including 34,822 under the flags of other countries and 16,364 under the Turkish flag, from January through October 2023.
Türkiye's ports received 394.09 million tons of cargo in 2022.
