Lithuania hopes for Azerbaijan in solving problems with providing country with gas, the Speaker of the Lithuanian Seimas Irena Degutene said in Baku on Thursday.
According to her, there are problems with providing Lithuania with gas because of high gas prices in the market. "Given that Azerbaijan has helped Georgia in this regard, we hope that it will cooperate with us as well. As part of my visit, this issue was also discussed," said Degutene.
Also the Speaker of the Lithuanian Seimas noted that during meetings with officials discussed the issue of Azerbaijani investments in Lithuania.
Azerbaijan is currently considering various options to sell the increasing volumes of gas. In particular, the topic of discussion is the possibility of transporting Azerbaijani gas using pipelines belonging to the Southern Corridor. Such projects include Nabucco, ITGI, TAP and the White Stream. Also, SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) is considering the feasibility of the project to supply liquefied natural gas to Romania via the Black Sea coast of Georgia (AGRI) and compressed natural gas - to Bulgaria.
