Kazakhstan ranked 38th among 148 countries in the Network Readiness Index (NRI), according to a message from Kazakh Communications and Information Agency.
In 2013, Kazakhstan held 43rd position in the rankings.
"Thus, Kazakhstan took the highest position in the NRI among other CIS countries, being between Cyprus (37th) and Latvia (39th)," the message read.
Finland had the highest rank in the NRI, while Singapore retained the second position, and Sweden - third. Russia stood at 50th spot.
The Network Readiness Index is the World Economic Forum's indicator determining the development level of information and communication technologies in various countries.
Kazakhstan climbed to the 3rd place in terms of cellular subscribers' number and ranked 8th in terms of the tariffs for fixed broadband Internet access.
The country also ranked the 17th out of 148 countries for the tariff for cellular communication.
