Afghanistan, Kabul, Dec. 16 / Trend , A. Hakimi/ According to the UN press release, killing of marines by a 13-year old boy demonstrates the Taliban's total disrespect for human rights.

The special envoy of the United Nations Secretary General to Afghanistan Kai Eide has denounced the reported use of children by Taliban insurgents as suicide bombers in Afghanistan, a UN statement released here said.

"I strongly condemn the attack where a young boy was allegedly used as a suicide bomber against British forces in Sangin district of Helmand," the statement quoted Kai Eide as saying.

Taliban militants, according to media reports, used a young boy as a suicide bomber against the NATO-led ISAF peacekeeping force in Afghanistan's southern Helmand province on Dec. 12. Three soldiers were killed in the attack.

In the statement the UN envoy stressed that the "Taliban and all others who use children in warfare must stop this hideous action in Afghanistan. He asked all sides to not use children as a means for war.

He emphasized that the rights of children must be respected in Afghanistan in any case or any time.

Taliban insurgents, who have claimed preparing hundreds of suicide bombers, have yet to admit using children as suicide attackers in war-torn Afghanistan.

Most of people devotedly send their children to join military groups either in Government or with Taliban insurgents due to economical problems.

In should be mentioned that most of these children are the only breadwinners for their families.

It has been told that some families sold their children to buy food and save others of death.

Despite international contribution in all dimensions in Afghanistan, the people are suffering food shortage which makes them to send their children to take part in violation action.
