Berdymukhamedov: Turkmenistan and Turkey reaping the benefits of economic cooperation

Turkmenistan and Turkey are beginning to reap the fruits of bilateral economic cooperation, the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov said during his visit to Turkey on Wednesday, TRT TV channel reported.

Turkmenistan and Turkey are beginning to reap the fruits of bilateral economic cooperation, the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov said during his visit to Turkey on Wednesday, TRT TV channel reported.

Turkish President Abdullah Gul presented a Turkish state order to the president of Turkmenistan. Mr Berdymuhamedov responded saying it will strengthen bilateral relations and wished prosperity for the Turkish people.

During his visit, Mr Berdymukhamedov will discuss the priority issues of interstate cooperation and possibilities for further diversification. Both sides are expected to sign a package of bilateral documents.

Turkey is amongst Turkmenistan's largest trading partners. A number of major projects including the construction of industrial infrastructure, social, cultural and other purposes are being worked on with the involvement of Turkish companies.

A significant role accounts for the activities of the intergovernmental Turkmen-Turkish commission for economic cooperation.

Cooperation in the tourism industry is an example which is developing rapidly in Turkmenistan due to the implementation of the large scale Avaz seaside resort project on the Caspian coast and considered to be promising.
