Number of Traffic Accident Victims in Azerbaijan’s Ganja City Dropping

Azerbaijan, Ganja, 9 April / Trend corr V. Mammadov/ The number of traffic accident victims dropped in Ganja city of Azerbaijan. In January-March 2008, 43 traffic accidents took place in Ganja as a result of which 3 people died and 46 sustained injuries, the head of Ganja Police Office Adil Zeynalov said to Trend on 8 April.

He said that as compared to the same period of 2007, the number of traffic accidents has increased, though the number of death cases has dropped.

In the same period of 2007, 34 traffic accidents took place in Ganja as a result of which 6 people died, 39 sustained injures.

According to Zeynalov, this year 6,246 drivers in Ganja broke the traffic regulations (373 of them were fined for driving in drunken state, 35 for creation of accident situation, 69 for ignoring Stop sign, 183 for ignoring the traffic lights, 10 for violation of passenger transportation regulations).
