Azerbaijani Opposition Party to Hold Elections to Fill Administration Vacancies

Azerbaijan, Baku, 30 June / Trend corr. I.Alizade / The Azerbaijani opposition Musavat party to hold elections to fill vacancies in the Assembly of the party. "At present, there are over 20 vacancies in the Assembly. Elections are planning to hold during the meeting of the Assembly scheduled for early August," Sulhaddin Akbar, Chairman of the Assembly, told Trend .

Assembly failed to form the final composition after the meeting in 2007. The issue has been raised for consideration for several times. However, the differences between Akbar and Arif Hajili, Head of the Central Executive Administration, hindered to elect members to the Assembly.

There are 143 members in the Assembly of Musavat.

According to Akbar, under the party Status, candidates must nominate their candidatures as soon as the date for the meeting is announced.
