Killer of Azerbaijan International University’s Student Sentenced

Azerbaijan, Baku, 14 November / Trend corr. K.Zarbaliyeva / A killer of the Azerbaijan International University's (AIU) student was sentenced to ten-year imprisonment.

Hearings of Alirahman Aliyev, a killer of the AIU second-year student Nihad Abbasov, finished at the Serious Crime Court on 14 November.

Aliyev stabbed Abbasov in Garaybayli St. of Narimanov District on 25 March in 2008. The accused person denied his testimony, which he gave to investigation, at the court and said that he saw a man laying on the ground while crossing the street on 25 March. When Aliyev approached to the man, he saw that the man was stabbed and he pulled out the knife from Abbasov's body and threw it to the ground.

Aliyev was arrested on 22 April in 2008.

The court did not accept Aliyev's testimony as correct one and sentenced him.
