The second winner of the award named after Heydar Aliyev in 2010 was the doctoral candidate of the Faculty of Comparative Literature of the University of California in Los Angeles (UCLA) (Leah Feldman, the Consulate General of Azerbaijan in Los Angeles said.
The award was presented to Feldman May 10 at the Consulate General of Azerbaijan for the research in the sphere of interrelation of literature and national awareness in the Eurasian space in the 19-20th centuries. Some of these researches are conducted within the course of the Azerbaijani language and literature, held by university professor Altay Geyushev.
The annual award named after Heydar Aliyev for American students, particularly distinguished themselves in research in the area of Azerbaijan and the Eurasian region, was established by the Consulate General in Los Angeles in 2008.
