PACE co-rapporteurs on Azerbaijan will again visit the country in October, the chairman of the Azerbaijani delegation to PACE, MP Samad Seyidov, said on Thursday, commenting on the discussions held at a meeting of the Monitoring Committee of the organization.

The MP said the meeting discussed important issues.

"The general idea of all the speakers at the meeting was the fact that the preparation of the report of the Monitoring Committee on Azerbaijan is carried out objectively. In addition, it was noted that two reports presented by Strasser on political prisoners in Azerbaijan include many non-objective, untruthful, even sometimes biased moments. This can be prevented only by one way - to organize at a high level and continue work between Azerbaijan and the Monitoring Committee of PACE. Monitoring Committee is interested in this matter," Seyidov said.

He said the committee finds it unacceptable to put pressure on the co-rapporteurs.

Seyidov noted that in October co-rapporteurs on Azerbaijan will come back to Azerbaijan for a visit in connection with the report.

"It was decided that in October, co-rapporteurs on Azerbaijan will come back for a visit to Azerbaijan. And the report itself is likely to be discussed at the January session of PACE. If it is not ready by that time, the discussion should take place at the April session of the organization. Because in accordance with the procedures of the Council of Europe, within two years work of rapporteurs shall be submitted to PACE," Seyidov said.
