As a result of unrest in Syria which has continued for 23 months, the country's infrastructure has suffered losses of $11 billion, SANA agency reported on Tuesday.
It also reported that in 2012, the government allocated over $2 billion to rebuild the infrastructure which was spent in the same year.
Anti-government protests have continued in Syria for more than a year and half. According to UN, the total number of victims of the conflict in Syria exceeds 60,000 with around three million in need of humanitarian assistance. The Syrian authorities say they oppose the well-armed militants.
