An agreement on cooperation in the field of archives has been signed between Azerbaijan and Hungary, Trend reports on Sept. 23 referring to the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.
Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with his Hungarian counterpart Peter Szijjarto within the 76th session of the UN General Assembly.
An agreement on cooperation in the field of archives was signed between the National Archive Department of Azerbaijan and the National Archives of Hungary at the beginning of the meeting.
The sides at the meeting expressed gratification that the relations between Azerbaijan and Hungary are a strategic partnership. The sides also exchanged views on cooperation in transport, energy, tourism, and other spheres.
The Azerbaijani foreign minister informed his Hungarian counterpart about the situation in the region, new opportunities for cooperation that appeared after the Armenia-Azerbaijan Karabakh conflict, and the restoration work being carried out by the Azerbaijani government in the liberated territories.
The Hungarian side expressed interest in participating in restoration and construction work in the liberated territories.
Szijjarto stressed that Hungary attaches great importance to the development of relations with friendly Azerbaijan.
The Hungarian foreign minister also stressed that cooperation in the political, economic, cultural, humanitarian spheres between the two countries is developing.
While speaking about cooperation between Hungary and Azerbaijan in the field of energy, the minister stressed that Azerbaijan is a reliable partner in the field of energy security, playing an important role in ensuring the diversification of energy supply routes to Europe.
The prospects for the development of bilateral relations and issues of mutual interest were also discussed during the meeting.
