The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan is accomplishing drawing up the documents aimed at proving the illegal operations of the Armenian side on the gold-bearing fields on the occupied territories of Azerbaijan, the Minister of Ecology Huseyn Bagirov told Trend.
According to him, the Azerbaijani side has at its disposal the information on the interests of the Armenian government to sell the natural resources of Azerbaijan to foreign companies. В"Our goal is to inform the public and international institutions on the facts revealed”, he said.
Bagirov said, Azerbaijan is going to bring an action against Armenia at the international court in regard to the illegitimate developing of the non-ferrous metals minefields.
В"The issue is handled not only at the level of our Ministry, it is related to the state policy”, the Minister stressed.
Azerbaijan has currently one contract for developing of the gold-bearing fields. Under the contract, signed on 21 August 1997 between the State Concern “Azergizil”(it has been liquidated and its functions have been transferred to the Ministry of Economic Development ) and R.V. Investment Group Services LLS (51% - the Azerbaijani side, 49% - the American), development of 9 gold fields of Azerbaijan with the preliminary reserves of 400 tons of gold, 2500 tons of silver and 1,5 million tons of copper is projected. However, 3 deposits are under the Armenian occupation, "Gizilbulag","Soyudlu", "Vejeni" in Zangilan and Kelbadjar regions.
