Samed Seyidov: A work group meets on April 5 to clarify the political prisoners' problem

A meeting of the work group will be held in Milli Mejlis on April 5, the head of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), Samed Seyidov told Trend.

The major purpose of the structure, made up of NGOs, Presidential Apparatus, law enforcement bodies and PACE delegation representatives, is to exchange opinions on the wide range of problems. We will discuss the appeals of some NGOs to the Council of Europe on the political prisoners issue at our meeting on April 5, Seyidov said.

He also stated that the problems have to be decided in accordance with the international human rights norms and regulations.

Disagreeing with some of the human rights activists, addressing the PACE on the political prisoners issue, Seyidov noted that even in democratic countries might be problems with the political prisoners. The work group was created to clarify these issues, he concluded.
