ITAR-TASS First Deputy General Director: Azerbaijan Has Always Have High Traditions to Russian Culture

Azerbaijan has always have high traditions toward the Russian culture, Mikhail Gusman, the first Deputy Generalk Manager of ITAR-TASS News Agency exclusively told Trend within his participation at 1st International Festival of Russian Book being held in Azerbaijan now.

This is a beautiful event, and I am very happy that 1st International Festival of Russian Book is being held just in my motherland Baku, he underlined. According to him, writers who write their works both in Azerbaijani and Russian lived and live in Azerbaija up to date. These are Anar, Magsud and Rustam Ibrahimbekov, Elchin and other ones, the people who equally are close both to the Azerbaijani and Russian word.

According to Mr. Gusman, Azerbaijan has always treated with a great interest toward the History and Classics of the Russian literature. We are not for the first time here. This tradition was laid by Azerbaijan`s Ex-President Heydar Aliyev, when festivals of Russian and Soviet Book were held just here in Baku. Today this tradition is represented under the patronage of Azerbaijan`s Existing President Ilham Aliyev at the new level. This is a real and concrete continuation of the tradition which were laid 30 years ago, he told.
