Azerbaijan and Germany Sign 6 New Contracts

Azerbaijan and German businessmen signed 6 documents in Berlin on 16 February 2007 within the framework of Azerbaijan-German business forum. Anar Guliyev, a representative of Azerbaijan Fund for Promoting Investments, who attended the signing ceremony, informed Trend that the bilateral talks between the businessmen will be continued, while signing of more documents is not on schedule.

Azerbaijan company Improtex Track & Baces concluded contracts with three German partners
- Lipher Export AG on exclusive right for sale of its products, Man - on purchase of auto-technique with the cost of в'¬3mln and with Faun on exclusive distribution rights and purchase of its devices in the amount of в'¬2.3mln.

The second agreement on establishment of a joint venture was concluded between Nakhchivan Furniture Factory and German Bio Etanol Arnburg. Azerbaijani company ADES and German company Mark inked a memorandum on cooperation, Baku HomeWare Factory and German Remax concluded a в'¬450,000 agreement on purchase of press shapes, Karvan-1 and Clariant Iberica signed a $250,000 contract on trading of carbon acid. A memorandum of Intention was signed between Baku Electricity Network and German company Siemens, signed a memorandum on mutual understating, which envisages the construction of a в'¬30mln power station in Azerbaijan.

The business forum is held at the initiative of Azerbaijan embassy in Germany with the organization support from the Ministry of Economic Development and AZPROMO.

Attending the event are officials of the two countries, over 30 businessmen from the non-oil sector of the country and over 150 German companies and organizations. The companies are representing banking, telecommunications, transport, construction, agrarian sectors.
