Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend , corr K.Zarbaliyeva / The Azerbaijan Interior Troops have appealed to the Union of Police and Gendarmerie with Military Status of the European and Mediterranean Sea Countries (FIEP) for FIEP membership.
Noting the significance attached to the membership of this organization, Zakir Hasanov, the Commander of the Azerbaijan Interior Troops, stated that FIEP appraisal mission, which visited Baku in September 2006, had developed a special report on Azerbaijan.
Presently, the appraisal mission is working on the documents. A meeting of FIEP leaders scheduled for October will discuss the report on Azerbaijan.
