Chairman of Azerbaijani Party Demands Newspaper Editor-in-Chief be Arrested

Azerbaijan, Baku /corr. Trend K.Zarbaliyeva / The lawsuit of the Unified Azerbaijan Popular Front Party against Khural newspaper was accepted for trial, the newspaper's Editor-in-Chief Avaz Zeynalli reported to Trend.

He stressed that the chairman of the party, Gudrat Hasanguliyev, requires that he be held criminally responsible for insult and slander. The lawsuit has been accepted by the Narimanov District Court. The court hearing has been scheduled for 3 October.

The chairman is required to apologize for the insulting article published in the Khural newspaper. Zeynalli said that firstly the Khalg Cebhesi newspaper, controlled by Gudrat Hasanguliyev, began publishing articles that were insulting to Zeynalli, and that and the article in the Khural newspaper was merely a response.
