Azerbaijan, Baku / Т corr E. Huseynli / The United States is satisfied with the level of religious tolerance in Azerbaijan. "In the world scale Azerbaijan is a unique country in terms of religious tolerance, and that is a great success of the country," the US Ambassador to Azerbaijan Anne Derse said at the meeting with the chair of the Azerbaijani State Committee on Religious Organizations Hidayat Orujov.
According to the Ambassador, settlement of religious freedom and national security issues is the key point also in the United States. Achievement of bilateral cooperation in this field is of great importance for both countries, she said.
According to the Law on Freedom of Religious Views which was passed in Azerbaijan, religious communities shall freely function in the country. There are 421 religious communities registered in Azerbaijan.
