Azerbaijan, Ganja, 15 January / Trend corr. V.Mammadov / The number of people infected by hepatitis has reduced in the city of Ganja in Azerbaijan.
Almaz Tomiyeva, the head of the Sanitary Hygiene Centre in Ganja, stated to Trend that the number of people infected by hepatitis totaled 79 in 2007 and 121 in 2006.
The number of people who suffered from hepatitis A in Ganja reached 66 in 2007.
The disease changes its dynamic every four to five years. The virus may 'sleep' for several years.
The decrease in the number of people infected in Ganja is connected to normalization of sanitary state in the city.
