She said: "I took my dad to a Spurs game. We've been Spurs fans our whole lives.
"I'd just got back from Paris and Tony is Parisian. I didn't know there was a Spurs player from Paris in Texas. That's pretty rare. I said 'bonjour je m'appelle Eva' and that was it.
"He had never seen the show. He only watches NBA television at home. He saw me in a magazine once because I had a Spurs hat on but he didn't know what I did. He didn't know Desperate Housewives.
"I didn't know who he was either. It was very funny. We both appreciated we had independent lives and careers and didn't need each other for any particular reason. We just wanted to be with each other."
