Azerbaijan, Baku, 20 May / corr. Trend R. Ergun/ The chess tournament President's Cup dedicated to 85th anniversary of the all nation leader of Azerbaijan will end on 21 May, the Chess Federation of Azerbaijan said to Trend on 20 May.
The leader of the tournament is Yengeniy Najerd from Russia with 7 points. He is followed by the Azerbaijani player Farid Abbasov with 6.5 points.
Some 200 chess players from 20 countries are taking part in the President's Cup including Victor Korchoy (Switzerland) and Naydjel Short (England).
The tournament is being held in the Swiss system. Azerbaijan is represented by well-known chess players such as Teymur Rajabov and Shahriyar Mammadyarov.
The prize fund of the tournament makes up $85,000.
