Azerbaijan, Baku, 22 May / corr. Trend R. Ergun/ The historical architectural complex of Azerbaijan Icheri Shahar has been included in the cultural program of the Olympic Games, press service of the Azerbaijani Youth and Sport Ministry informed Trend .
The Organizational Committee has been set up to prepare Baku, one of the claimants to host the Olympic Games 2016. The organizational committee 'Baku- 2016' has included Icheri Shahar ( Old City) historical architectural complex into its program.
Eyyub Yagubov, head of the Organizational Committee, has announced that Icheri Shahar has been included in the cultural program of the Olympic Games after his meeting with the members of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
Some six countries, besides Azerbaijan, are also contending to host Olympic Games 2016. The chances of Chicago are the highest.
Azerbaijan plans to build a sports city in the Bibi Heybat settlement to host the Olympic Games, which will be held after 8 years.
