Azerbaijani representation of the International Azerbaijan Forum named after Heydar Aliyev held a presentation of a book titled "Ulu Heydar" ("Great Heydar") by the poet- publicist Mirkazim Seyidov. It was noted at the presentation held on Friday that the book tells about the global activities of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev.
The event was opened by a famous TV journalist, professor of Gulu Maharramli. He spoke about the significant role of National Leader Heydar Aliyev in Azerbaijan's history.
Speakers at the event spoke about Heydar Aliyev's role in the history of Azerbaijan. It was noted that despite many books written, Heydar Aliyev's legacy has not been fully studied.
Heydar Alirza oglu Aliyev was born on 10 May 1923 in the city of Nakhchivan of Azerbaijan. Being elected at the Plenum of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Azerbaijan in July 1969 as First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Azerbaijan, Heydar Aliyev headed the Republic. During the period of his leadership in the country, Azerbaijan has become one of the leading republics for economic development in the USSR. Coming to power for the second time during the period of independence, Heydar Aliyev made an enormous contribution to the development of Azerbaijani statehood. Exactly during the period of his power, Azerbaijan, withdrawing from serious political and economic crisis, got on a path of successful development.
