Education minister: Azerbaijan needs qualified staff in agriculture and construction

About 70 young Azerbaijanis have been trained in German universities as a result of cooperation between the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the Azerbaijani government, Azerbaijani Education Minister Misir Mardanov said at a meeting with Chairman of the German-Azerbaijani Forum, Azerbaijani Honorary Consul in Stuttgart Otto Hauser.

About 70 young Azerbaijanis have been trained in German universities as a result of cooperation between the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the Azerbaijani government, Azerbaijani Education Minister Misir Mardanov said at a meeting with Chairman of the German-Azerbaijani Forum, Azerbaijani Honorary Consul in Stuttgart Otto Hauser.
The minister said qualified personnel are required in agriculture and construction. He stressed the importance of joint activity with relevant agencies in this direction.

Hauser voiced initiatives for training staff in the most urgent areas of vocational education.

According to Hauser, the German side is ready to support Azerbaijan in this sphere.
Mardanov also voiced specific proposals to establish a dual vocational education system.

He talked about joint activity with the European Commission to open the Ismayilli professional education center as well.
They also exchanged views on visit by German experts to study vocational education to Azerbaijan this summer, the translation of two books into Azerbaijani for the Azerbaijan Agrarian State University and the drafting of a dual vocational education center.
