YARAT! Contemporary Art Space will present a new "COMMONIST" project, devoted to the theme of multiculturalism in Baku, YARAT! reported.

The exhibition of the project will be hosted from Sept. 22 to Oct. 22.

"Multiculturalism, as a new and rapidly growing phenomenon, causes extremely controversial reaction, from from anxiety to timid hope," said the statement.

The exhibition has brought together 19 artists, each of which has completely different views on this exciting theme.

The name of "COMMONIST" project appeals to the universal sense, broader than any political meaning.

"COMMONIST" is a citizen of the world, forced to put up with the changed rules of human coexistence, rather than a citizen adhering to the left or right views. In its judgment, it is guided by values common to all of mankind.

There are tens of hundreds of definitions of multiculturalism, the authors of which are politicians, sociologists, philosophers and writers. YARAT! Contemporary Art Space offers artistic interpretation and ambiguous phenomenon that has affected everyone.

Each of the authors has proposed his own definition of multiculturalism - sometimes positive, sometimes negative, but in most cases with a huge question mark.

The venue is 132, Y. Chamanzamanli st., Baku at 19:00 (map attached)www.yarat.az
