The US embassy in Baku has expressed condolences over the victims in the big Baku multi-story building fire outbreak.
"The people and government of the United States want to offer our deepest condolences and prayers for the victims of the tragic apartment building fire in Baku on May 19," the statement posted on the official Facebook page of the US embassy in Baku says.
"May all those who have lost loved ones be consoled, and may those who are injured speedily recover," the statement said.
The fire that occurred in a multi-story building on the Azadlig Avenue in Baku on May 19 left 15 people dead and 50 more injured.
A criminal case has been initiated in the Investigation Department on Grave Crimes of the Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan upon the fire fact on the Articles 225.2 (violation of fire safety rules), 308.2 (abuse of power) and 314.2 (negligence) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan.
