Armed terrorist killed in Azerbaijan
Baku, Azerbaijan, Nov. 25
During a special operation, carried out by Azerbaijan’s State Security Service in the country’s Khachmaz district, a terrorist – Azerbaijani national Ramig Rahimov (1974), who committed an armed resistance, has been killed, the service said in a message Nov. 25.
Rahimov is suspected of carrying out activities as part of a terrorist organization involved in armed conflicts motivated by religious hatred beyond Azerbaijan.
Meanwhile, he involved other Azerbaijani nationals in such armed conflicts and organized secret gatherings of the organization’s members. Illegally acquiring firearms and explosives, Rahimov planned to stage terror acts and carry out kidnappings.
Rahimov was to be arrested and prosecuted in the Duztahiroba village of the Khachmaz district on Nov. 25, 2016, before he resisted arrest and got killed.
Investigative and operational measures on the criminal case, initiated by the Main Investigation Department of the State Security Service on the terrorism, kidnapping and other facts, continue.
