Rector of Kazakh-British Technical University visits Baku Higher Oil School

Rector of Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS) Elmar Gasimov has met with Rector of the Kazakh-British Technical University (KBTU), Professor Maratbek Gabdullin and KBTU Professor of Development Sciences Chokan Laumulin.

The meeting was also attended by teachers of Baku Higher Oil School and Kazakh students studying at BHOS within the framework of cooperation between the two universities.

Welcoming the guests, BHOS Rector Elmar Gasimov said that he was happy to see them at Baku Higher Oil School. The rector informed the guests about the achievements of BHOS, the international relations of the university, the organization of the educational process at BHOS and the innovations implemented at the university. Elmar Gasimov said that the visit of his colleague Maratbek Gabdullin to BHOS will be another impetus for expanding cooperation between the two universities. The rector highly appreciated the fact that students from Kazakhstan are studying at the university headed by him, and stressed that the exchange program will continue.

Thanking Rector of Baku Higher Oil School for hospitality, Maratbek Gabdullin said that he visited the BHOS campus and believes that exemplary conditions have been created at the university for high-quality student education. He congratulated BHOS on its 10th anniversary and wished the university every success. Expressing satisfaction with cooperation with BHOS, KBTU Rector said that the university he headed was established in 2001 by Decree of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan in accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding concluded between the Ministry of Education and Science of Kazakhstan and the British Council. Noting that the Kazakh-British Technical University specializes mainly in the Oil and Gas sector, Maratbek Gabdullin stressed that student exchange programs between BHOS and KBTU are successfully continuing. He expressed hope that Azerbaijani students will study at KBTU and expressed his intention to expand cooperation with BHOS in the field of Education and Training.

The meeting continued with a discussion of the prospects for further cooperation.

At the end of the meeting, BHOS Rector Elmar Gasimov presented Maratbek Gabdullin with a plaque "Guest of Honor".

Cooperation between BHOS and KBTU began in 2018 based on a Memorandum of Cooperation. As part of this cooperation, 3 KBTU students studied at the BHOS Petroleum Engineering Department under the undergraduate program during the autumn semester of the 2019/2020 academic year and 1 KBTU student - during the spring semester of the 2019/2020 academic year. As a result of further expansion of bilateral cooperation, 11 more KBTU students are studying at BHOS Petroleum Engineering Department during the spring semester of the 2021/2022 academic year.
