Around 50 appeals came in the department on fighting corruption, the Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan Zakir Garalov told journalists, Trend reports.
According to him, the appeals came from the commission on the corruption fighting and the non-governmental organizations (NGO) engaged in this sphere. The investigations on the appeals are carried out and in case of detecting any violations of laws relevant measures will be taken”, Garalov noted.
He also noted, the impetus for strengthening the fight against corruption was approval of the law “On the corruption fighting” and the state program on fighting corruption. В"We will inform the public of the situation in this field on the regular basis in future”, Garalov underlined.
The Prosecutor General noted the Department on the corruption fighting is currently investigating 13 criminal cases. Among them are the cases of “Pochtamt”, Gas Department of Mingechavir, of some officials of Beylagan region and other. 3 cases have been already accomplished and the documents are in the court.
