WTO probable to render technical assistance to organization of a meeting of OIC tourism ministers

The World Tourism Organization (WTO) is probable to render technical assistance to the organization of a meeting of Tourism Ministers of Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) to be held in Baku, Ragif Abbasov, the spokesman for the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Tourism, told Trend.

According to Abbasov, Abulfaz Garayev, the Azerbaijani Minister for Youth, Sports and Tourism, is going to discuss the issue with the leadership of the WTO during the 16th session of the WTO which started in Dakar, Senegal, on Tuesday. The agenda of the event to last by 2 December include election of new Secretary General of the WTO for the office term of 4 years, admission of new members. Franchesco Franjalli, the current Secretary General of the organization, has been nominated to the post of the Secretary General, and Azerbaijan also supported the initiative, Abbasov said. The session will also consider the issue on membership of 3 new countries.

During the session to last on 2 December the Azerbaijani delegation held some bilateral meetings, which centered on perspectives for development of cooperation.
