Azeri Ombudsman Sends Statement to International Organizations on Genocide of the Azerbaijanis
Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend S.Ilhamgizi / The Ombudsman of Azerbaijan, Elmira Suleymanova, said that she has forwarded statements to the UN Secretary General, UN Commissioner on Human Rights, Head of the Council of Europe and other international organizations, as well as embassies of the foreign countries in Baku with regards to the Genocide Day of the Azerbaijanis - 31 March.
The document speaks of the genocides committed by the Armenians against the Azerbaijanis. The document says that genocides have been committed against the Azerbaijanis in 1918 and other times. These genocides have been continuing for more than 200 years and as a result of the Armenian aggression against Azerbaijan, Khojali genocide was committed and hundreds of thousands of the Azerbaijanis have been forcibly left their native lands.
Suleymanova said that by sending such statements to the international organizations, they try to present to the attention of the international community the realities about the historical tragedies against the Azerbaijanis and violation of all human rights.
