Reforms, Political Will and Strong Civil Society Needed to Reduce Corruption Level in Azerbaijan: Head of Transparency International Head
Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend S.Agayeva / The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Transparency International, Yuget Label, briefed the media on 31 May in Baku that reforms, political will and strong civil society are needed to reduce the level of corruption in Azerbaijan.
According to Label, Azerbaijan is not on top of the list in the Index of Corruption which is published by the organization annually. She stated that in its reports, the Transparency International bases this on the data from the private sector and NGOs as a result of the monitoring. She expressed her readiness to provide support to the Government of Azerbaijan to fight against corruption, improve the legislation and carry out reforms.
