(showbuzz.cbsnews.com) - Britney Spears will be making her way to Sin City very soon. "Entertainment Tonight" reports that the singer has been tapped to host the opening of the LAX nightclub at the Luxor Hotel in Las Vegas on Aug. 31. It's not clear yet whether or not she will perform at the event. ET reports that Spears' success as host of a New Year's Eve bash at Pure nightclub in Las Vegas prompted organizers to book her for this opening. Spears made headlines at that event when she fell asleep after leading the New Year's countdown.
"By about 1 o'clock, she was just done, so we took her out," Spears' manager, Larry Rudolph, told The Associated Press at the time. "She was not drunk. She was just tired and falling asleep." The club space, formerly occupied by club RA, has celebrity investors including DJ Am and singer Christina Aguilera.
