Azerbaijan increased the export of aluminum and aluminum products by 15.2 percent or 7,976 tons from January through November 2021 compared to the same period of last year up to more than 60,470 tons, Trend reports on Dec. 30 citing a report from the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee.
According to the State Customs Committee, the share of aluminum and aluminum products in Azerbaijan's total export volume in the reporting period reached 0.83 percent while in export of non-oil products - 6.99 percent.
The value of export of aluminum exceeded $164.9 million.
Moreover, Azerbaijan exported more than 137,630 tons of ferrous metals and ferrous metal products from January through November 2021, which is by almost 65,280 tons or 90.2 percent more than in the same period of last year (72,356 tons). In value terms, the export of ferrous metals reached about $106.6 million.
According to the report, the share of ferrous metals and ferrous metal products in Azerbaijan’s total export volume accounted for 0.54 percent while in export of non-oil products - 4.52 percent during the reporting period.
Azerbaijan’s foreign trade turnover overall increased by 32.85 percent or $7.5 billion from January through November 2021 compared to the same period of last year - from $22.7 billion to $30.2 billion.
The export volume reached $19.8 billion in the structure of Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover in the reporting period while import volume - $10.4 billion, having increased in annual terms by 51.6 percent and 7.47 percent, respectively.
As a result, while remaining positive, the foreign trade balance increased on an annualized basis by 178 percent or $6.01 billion - to $9.4 billion from January through November 2021 compared to $3.4 billion from January through November 2020.
