BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 5. Issues of development of economic ties between Azerbaijan and Japan were discussed, Azerbaijani Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov wrote on Twitter, Trend reports citing to publication.

The minister said that during the meeting with Taro Honda, parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, economic relations between Japan and Azerbaijan, particularly in trade, the documents on the elimination of double taxation and investment protection, also cooperation in the field of green energy were discussed.

"I remembered with fond memories my visit to Japan in March of 2019 under the "Invitation of Ministers" program,” he said.

According to Azerbaijan State Customs Committee (SCC), trade with Japan exceeded $51.1 million from January through March 2022, while this figure in the same period last year amounted to $45.5 million (an increase of 2.9 percent over the year).
