BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 23. Turkish ports transported 5.3 million tons of cargo from Romania from January through August 2022, the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Turkic World, Trend reports.
According to the ministry, 638,063 tons of cargo were transported by ships under the flag of Türkiye from Romania and 4.6 million by ships under the flags of other countries.
Meanwhile, no cargo was delivered to the ports by ships under the Romanian flag. Turkish ports transported 1.6 million tons of cargo from Romania from January through August 2022.
Port of Türkiye handled 33.4 million tons in August 2022.
During the specified period, cargo transportation by ships under the flag of Türkiye through domestic ports amounted to 2.3 million tons and under the flags of other countries 31 million tons.
Furthermore, Turkish ports handled 6.2 million tons of transit cargo in August 2022.
Turkish ports handled 264.6 million tons of cargo from January through August 2022.
Cargo transportation by ships under the flag of Türkiye amounted to 18.9 million tons during the specified period. Cargo transportation through the ports of Türkiye by ships under the flags of other countries amounted to 245.6 million tons.
Port of Türkiye handled 54 million tons of transit cargo from January through August 2022.
