BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 1. A total of 12.7 million tons of chemical products were transshipped through the ports of Türkiye from January through September 2022, Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Türkiye told TurkicWorld, Trend reports.
According to the ministry, 893,243 tons of the cargo were delivered to Turkish ports under the flag of Türkiye, and 11.8 million tons by ships under the flags of other countries.
From January through September 2022, 188,457 tons of chemical products were transported in transit through the ports of Türkiye.
Turkish ports handled 31.9 million tons of transit cargo in September 2022.
Ships under the flag of Türkiye transported 2.2 million tons of chemical products through local ports and ships under the flags of other countries – 29.7 million tons during this period.
Turkish ports handled 6.6 million tons of transit cargo in September 2022.
The ports of Türkiye handled 386.3 million tons of cargo in 2021.
Cargo transportation by ships under the flag of Türkiye amounted to 29.9 million tons, and by ships flying the flags of other countries - 356.3 million tons last year.
Besides, Turkish ports handled 78 million tons of transit cargo in 2021.
