BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 12. Azerbaijan's retail trade turnover reached 45.1 billion manat ($26.49 billion) from January through November 2022, increasing by three percent against the same period of 2021, Trend reports via the Azerbaijani State Statistical Committee.

Out of the total trade activity, food, beverage, and tobacco turnover amounted to 25.35 billion manat, or $14.89 billion (growth of 2.2 percent), while non-food products – 19.7 billion manat, or $11.57 billion (growth of 3.8 percent).

As the Committee noted, the population spent 51.7 percent of their funds on food products, 4.5 percent – on drinks and tobacco, 14.7 percent – on textiles, clothing, and footwear, 5.6 percent – on gasoline and diesel fuel, five percent – on electrical items and furniture, 2.1 percent – on pharmaceuticals and medicines, one percent – on computers, and 15.4 percent – on other non-food products, in the first eleven months of 2022.

The value of private sector goods in the reporting period amounted to 99.7 percent of the total retail turnover, growing by 2.9 percent against the same period of 2021.

The retail trade activity on enterprises increased by 3.1 percent, on markets and fairs – by four percent, and on individual businessmen – by 2.4 percent year over year.

The average monthly turnover of retail trade per capita amounted to 407.4 manat ($239.3), including food, beverages and tobacco products – 229 manat ($134.5), and non-food products – 178.4 manat ($104.79).
