BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 17. Azerbaijan’s industrial enterprises and sole proprietors manufactured products worth 86 billion manat ($50.5 billion) in 2022, down by 1.1 percent against the same period of 2021, Trend reports citing the State Statistical Committee of Azerbaijan.

In the meantime, production in the oil and gas sector declined by 2.5 percent, while in the non-oil sector – rose by 7.1 percent compared to the same period of 2021.

During this period, 75.4 percent of industrial production accounted for the mining sector, 20.6 percent – the manufacturing sector, 3.4 percent – on the production, distribution, and supply of electricity, gas and steam, and 0.6 percent – on the water supply, purification and waste treatment.

Furthermore, commercial oil production in Azerbaijan decreased by 5.6 percent, whereas commercial gas production grew by 7.3 percent than in the same period of 2021.

Growth of construction materials production in the processing industry totaled 12.6 percent, in the chemical industry – 4.9 percent, in the metallurgical industry – 15.6 percent, cars, trailers and semi-trailers – 68 percent, electrical equipment – 25.6 percent, furniture – 25.8 percent, clothing – 46.2 percent, machinery and spare parts – 58.8 percent, finished metal products – 17.7 percent, leather and products thereof – by 93.9 percent, paper and cardboard – 16.2 percent, food products – 7.7 percent, rubber and plastic products – 7.7 percent, lumber and products thereof – 13.4 percent, textile production – 1.3 percent, as well as computer and optical products – 5.7 percent, metallurgical products – 9.9 percent.

From January through December 2022, tobacco production dropped by 12.2 percent, drinks – by four percent, pharmaceuticals – 5.2 percent, and oil products – by 4.2 percent, compared to the same period of 2021.

The production volume in manufacturing, distribution, and supply of electricity, as well as gas and steam, rose by 2.3 percent. Moreover, production in water supply, waste treatment, and processing grew by 8.4 percent from January through December 2022 compared to the same period of 2021.
