BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 10. For the first timein several years, Azerbaijan imported 61.2 tons of ware potatoes from Russia's Novgorod region, Trend reports via the Russian Rosselkhoznadzor Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance.

According to the Rosselkhoznadzor, the service carried out all the necessary measures regarding the regional agriculture products: potato tubers were inspected, and product samples were sent to the Novgorod Department of the North-Western Branch of the Federal State-financed Institution "Federal Center for Animal Health" for the identification of quarantine objects.

Potatoes were found to be free of hazardous organisms as a result of laboratory testing, which led to a decision being made about the products' phytosanitary status.
